Bloomfire—Enterprise Intelligence: Turning Knowledge into a Measurable, Revenue-Driving Asset

Bloomfire’s Enterprise Intelligence reimagines the static corporate knowledge base as a dynamic, intelligent network that connects knowledge across the organization so the right answer reaches the right person at the right moment.

Bloomfire—Enterprise Intelligence: Turning Knowledge into a Measurable, Revenue-Driving Asset

Bloomfire’s Enterprise Intelligence intro: Philip Brittan, CEO of Bloomfire, believes that knowledge within an organization is either a revenue-driving asset or a liability. Throughout his career at Thomson Reuters, Google, and Bloomberg, he has seen firsthand that organizations that treat knowledge as capital consistently outperform those that do not. These organizations use knowledge to unlock new levels of business agility, accelerate decision-making, and empower their workforce.

Yet, Brittan has also observed that in many organizations, knowledge remains one of the most undervalued, undertracked, and underutilized assets. Employees often struggle to access the information they need when they need it. Knowledge is scattered across siloed systems, buried in emails, or lost as employees walk out the door, which slows decisions and frustrates teams.

Bloomfire’s Value of Enterprise Intelligence Report, based on data from 10,000 employees across 115 companies, shows the stakes: inefficient knowledge management directly impacts about 25 percent of a business’s annual revenue. For a $9-billion enterprise—a typical Fortune 500 company—that translates to about $2.4 billion in value at risk each year. In contrast, organizations with strong knowledge practices are three times more likely to exceed their business goals.

Bloomfire is pioneering a shift where treating knowledge as capital that flows freely is no longer optional—it’s essential. This shift is embodied in the company’s Enterprise Intelligence, a strategic framework that represents the natural convergence and evolution of knowledge management, enterprise search, and business intelligence, all of which are further enhanced by Generative AI. It reimagines the static corporate knowledge base as a dynamic, intelligent network that connects knowledge pools across the enterprise, heals data and content quality issues in real time, and proactively delivers insights in context—so the right answer reaches the right person at the right moment.

Organizations adopting Bloomfire’s Enterprise Intelligence don’t just enhance productivity—they build agile, intelligent operations that move faster, innovate more effectively, and create lasting competitive advantages that directly impact bottom-line performance. “We are not just reinventing knowledge management—we are evolving it into Enterprise Intelligence,” says Brittan.

Enterprise Intelligence: The Convergence of Knowledge Management, Enterprise Search, Business Intelligence, and Generative AI in Action

Historically, knowledge management—focused on storing institutional knowledge—enterprise search—designed for retrieving documents—and business intelligence—centered on structured data analysis—operated as isolated functions. This fragmentation left information scattered across departments, slowing decisions and increasing inefficiencies.

Enterprise Intelligence unites these disciplines, and uses AI to surface real-time insights, continuously refine knowledge, and deliver information seamlessly within the flow of work—moving beyond static storage to dynamic, decision-driving knowledge activation.

Rather than maintaining static repositories, Enterprise Intelligence creates knowledge that flows. Instead of reactive search, it proactively surfaces insights based on role and context. And instead of siloed analytics, it blends structured data with narrative context. Together, these capabilities transform static information into a living, evolving asset that powers smarter, faster decision-making.

Creating Self-Healing Knowledge, Transforming Reactive Search into Predictive Intelligence, and Converting Tacit Knowledge into Actionable Insight

With the integration of Generative AI, Bloomfire is introducing what it calls self-healing knowledge. AI automatically identifies outdated, redundant, or conflicting content, ensuring that knowledge remains fresh and trusted without the need for constant manual upkeep to deliver accurate and explainable results.

Enterprise Intelligence also marks the shift from reactive search to predictive intelligence. By analyzing roles, behaviors, and usage patterns, the framework anticipates what employees need to know before they ask. Information is no longer something employees have to “pull” through search—it is intelligently “pushed” to them in advance.

“In today’s environment, the convergence of AI and knowledge isn’t a ‘nice to have’—it’s a board-level mandate,” Brittan explains. “We view Enterprise Intelligence as the connective tissue that links people, data, and insights across the enterprise.”

Bloomfire also integrates enterprise-grade governance—role-based permissions, audit trails, and SOC 2 Type II compliance—with explainable AI that provides plain-language answers supported by citations employees can trust.

This foundation allows organizations to leverage AI for real decision-making with confidence, minimizing the risks of misinformation or hallucinations. “While many companies are deploying Generative AI without considering the quality of the underlying data—expecting LLMs or RAG systems to compensate—we do not believe that is sustainable,” says Brittan. “Bloomfire doesn’t just generate content; it governs, explains, and continuously improves it.”

Most importantly, Enterprise Intelligence recognizes the symbiotic relationship between humans and knowledge—they continuously evolve and reinforce one another. Built on this deep understanding of how employees consume knowledge and the outcomes they achieve, Enterprise Intelligence proactively captures and quantifies tacit knowledge, converting it into explicit, shareable insights by prompting employees at the right moments. This approach helps organizations reduce their reliance on individuals and preserve institutional knowledge for long-term continuity and growth.

Bloomfire :Helping Organizations Leverage Knowledge as a Capital Asset

Bloomfire partners with global enterprises that need to scale knowledge securely across thousands of employees and treat it as a measurable capital asset. Enterprise Intelligence quantifies the value of knowledge—through revenue impact, cost savings, or productivity gains—and activates it as it flows across the organization.

The company embeds Enterprise Intelligence directly into the tools employees use every day, whether CRM systems, service desks, design platforms, or clinical systems. Knowledge appears at the exact moment it is needed, eliminating friction and reducing the need to switch contexts or search through repositories.

Instead of replacing existing systems, Enterprise Intelligence connects and enhances them, unlocking the full value of both structured and unstructured data by making insights contextual, accessible, and actionable. “This stands in stark contrast to organizations that simply layer new technology on top of outdated infrastructure without proper cleanup,” Brittan notes.

One of the world’s largest banks, for instance, uses Enterprise Intelligence as its “insights headquarters.” The framework integrates more than 50 data sources updated hourly, with a core research team of 35 supporting over 1,700 product managers, UX designers, and business leaders. According to Bloomfire’s analysis, this initiative delivers $375 million in measurable value through productivity gains, faster decisions, and insights-driven growth—contributing to five consecutive years of double-digit growth for the bank.

Bloomfire’s Value of Enterprise Intelligence Report also reveals that organizations effectively adopting Enterprise Intelligence gain an estimated $27.1 million in productivity improvements and $2.26 million in cost avoidance per 100 employees. These results scale exponentially across large enterprises. Organizations also see a 10 percent improvement in cross-functional collaboration, a 12 percent increase in team efficiency, and a 50 percent reduction in onboarding time, along with significant boosts in retention and customer satisfaction.

Most notably, 46 percent of employees believe their days would be far more productive if knowledge flowed freely. “That’s the opportunity,” Philip Brittan emphasizes. “At Bloomfire, our mission is to remove friction so knowledge drives smarter, faster action at scale.”

Expanding the Enterprise Intelligence Ecosystem

Bloomfire continues to expand Enterprise Intelligence into a headless knowledge engine. Through open APIs and OEM partnerships, it powers other applications behind the scenes—fueling support platforms with verified answers, enriching analytics dashboards, and grounding generative AI tools in curated, governed content.

Looking ahead, Philip Brittan envisions knowledge activation extending beyond single organizations. By connecting insights across entire ecosystems—spanning partners, suppliers, and customers—Enterprise Intelligence will enable powerful network effects, allowing knowledge to flow seamlessly across industries.

“Our vision is clear,” Brittan concludes, “Enterprise Intelligence won’t just be a platform you log into. It will be the intelligence layer that quietly and reliably powers trusted knowledge everywhere people work.”
