Dr. Amit Sinha: Leading DigiCert’s PKI Modernization Mission for Quantum-Readiness and Trusted AI Agents

Dr. Amit Sinha brings leadership rooted in the CARE principle—Customer Obsession, Awesome Innovation, Relentless Execution, and Exceptional Collaboration—to DigiCert. It’s a framework he has relied on throughout his career to build enduring companies. He honed this leadership approach during his 12-year tenure at Zscaler, where he served as President and played a central role in scaling the company from a startup into a NASDAQ-100 organization and the world’s largest security cloud provider.

Dr. Amit Sinha's DigiCert CARE Principal Today, he leads DigiCert, an established leader in digital trust. Its DigiCert ONE platform unifies PKI, certificate lifecycle management, and authoritative DNS into an AI-powered foundation that secures infrastructure, software, devices, and content. More than 100,000 organizations already rely on DigiCert to counter today’s threats, and Dr. Amit Sinha is guiding the company to extend this DNS + PKI trust fabric into the emerging worlds of AI agents and quantum computing.

Dr. Amit Sinha: A Foundation Built on Innovation, Execution, Collaboration, and Customer Focus

When Dr. Amit Sinha joined Zscaler, it was a small startup with a bold vision to reshape how enterprises approached cloud security. That vision translated into breakthrough innovation with the Zero Trust Exchange platform, which redefined security for a cloud-first world and pioneered a new category in enterprise security.

But innovation alone did not scale Zscaler. Relentless execution did—the discipline to operationalize big ideas, build the right infrastructure, and deliver with the level of speed and reliability global enterprises expect.

At the center of it all was customer obsession. Zscaler listened closely, understood customer pain points, and built solutions that enabled organizations to embrace digital transformation with confidence. That focus helped Zscaler become the trusted platform for some of the world’s largest enterprises.

Dr. Amit Sinha: Steering DigiCert Toward Intelligent Trust

Dr. Amit Sinha, CEO of DigiCertAt DigiCert, Dr. Amit Sinha is applying his CARE principles to advance the company’s vision: to be the global leader in intelligent trust and protect the digital world by ensuring the security, privacy, and authenticity of every interaction. “Every day, our mission is to give individuals and organizations the confidence that their digital footprint is safe and resilient,” he notes.

This mission is especially important as five powerful forces reshape the industry. Web PKI is accelerating, with certificate lifespans shrinking from 398 days to 47, making automation essential. Non-human identities are multiplying, from cloud workloads to AI agents, adding new complexity to PKI management. One-size-fits-all is disappearing as industry-specific PKI standards emerge. Quantum computing is advancing rapidly, threatening to render current cryptography obsolete sooner than anticipated. And resilience has become non-negotiable as organizations elevate business continuity to a top priority.

By aligning DigiCert with these forces, Dr. Amit Sinha is positioning the company not just to adapt but to lead. “Our long-term goal is clear: to help the world’s most trusted brands secure their digital ecosystems today while building resilience for the threats of tomorrow. That is what it means to be the global leader in intelligent trust.”

Dr. Amit Sinha: Leading the Charge Across AI Trust and Quantum Security

“When I think about the future of DigiCert, I see us at the center of two of the most profound shifts shaping digital trust: AI and quantum,” Dr. Amit Sinha says. “We are also tackling the shifts related to shorter certificate lifespans, industry-specific PKI standards, and business continuity.”

Our long-term goal is clear: to help the world’s most trusted brands secure their digital ecosystems today while building resilience for the threats of tomorrow.

The first is AI trust. The world is asking new questions: How can we trust AI agents to take actions on our behalf? How do we know what is real and what is fake? How do we make sure malicious AI is not inserted into our software supply chain?

“At DigiCert, we are extending the digital trust that already secures the web into the AI era,” he explains. This means assigning strong identities to AI agents using PKI with standards like MCP and mutual TLS, establishing content provenance through C2PA for AI-generated outputs, and ensuring AI model integrity across the software supply chain. “Our goal is to give organizations the confidence to safely adopt AI while protecting them from the risks it introduces.”

Dr. Amit Sinha, CEO of DigiCert The second shift is quantum disruption. “Our entire digital trust fabric is based on asymmetric math problems like factoring large numbers and discrete logarithms,” Dr. Amit Sinha explains. While classical computers would need thousands of years to break these, quantum machines could do so in hours or minutes. If this foundation is broken, everything is at risk—messages, internet communications, cryptocurrencies, blockchains, digital contracts, trusted software, EV cars, satellites, IoT devices, and virtually every system that relies on authentication or encryption. “This is not just an upgrade; it is an existential challenge to digital trust.”

That is why DigiCert has been working relentlessly with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the IETF, and other global standards bodies to help define the next generation of Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC). “I am proud to say that our DigiCert ONE platform already supports all approved PQC standards today, making us one of the first to bring quantum-safe security into production environments,” he says. “Our focus is to ensure customers are crypto-agile and prepared for this once-in-a-generation upgrade to the foundations of security.”

In the years ahead, DigiCert will continue expanding its offerings across AI trust, post-quantum readiness, and PKI modernization to remain the trusted partner organizations rely on to secure their digital ecosystems. “Our vision is clear: to stay ahead of disruption, to shape standards, and to define the future of intelligent trust,” remarks Dr. Amit Sinha

Dr. Amit Sinha: Addressing the Remaining Forces Shaping Digital Trust

To meet the needs created by shorter certificate lifespans and modern PKI demands, DigiCert has partnered with Citrix NetScaler and F5 to deliver automated SSL/TLS certificate management across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. This integration combines the DigiCert ONE platform with NetScaler’s Zero-Touch Certificate Management for centralized visibility, automation, and crypto-agility.

I am proud to say that our DigiCert ONE platform already supports all approved PQC standards today, making us one of the first to bring quantum-safe security into production environments.

DigiCert also offers tailored PKI services designed for the unique needs of sectors including finance, IoT, enterprise, and government.

And as the world moved online, availability became the new language of trust. But maintaining that availability is increasingly difficult as organizations face tsunami-scale DDoS events and an industrial wave of automated attacks. DigiCert ONE platform breaks down the silos between DNS, DDoS, and application protection, unifying visibility, treating telemetry as shared intelligence, and planning for scale as an operational constant. This allows organizations to absorb even record-breaking DDoS floods without service disruption.

Dr. Amit Sinha: Driving Growth and Pushing the Frontier of Digital Trust

Dr. Amit Sinha, CEO of DigiCert “When I joined DigiCert in October 2022, my mandate was clear: accelerate adoption of our core platform, transform the business to SaaS, and drive innovation to cement our leadership in digital trust. I am proud of the journey so far and the progress we have made on all fronts,” Dr. Amit Sinha reflects.

One of his first priorities was to strengthen DigiCert’s leadership team. Over the past two years, the company has brought in outstanding executives across the business. “This infusion of talent has been critical in building the CARE culture—Customer Obsession, Awesome Innovation, Relentless Execution, and Exceptional Collaboration,” according to Dr. Amit Sinha.

On the business side, Dr. Amit Sinha has led a successful transformation of DigiCert into a SaaS company with the scale and operational discipline to deliver both growth and profitability. “Our record-breaking FY2025 performance is a testament to this strategy working,” he says.

Innovation remains centered on the DigiCert ONE platform, which unifies PKI, certificate lifecycle management, and authoritative DNS into a single intelligent trust fabric. The acquisition of Vercara expanded this vision further, adding UltraDNS and UltraDDoS capabilities and strengthening the company’s ability to deliver end-to-end trust. “We have filed more than 61 new patents since I joined, particularly in trust areas related to AI and quantum computing,” Dr. Amit Sinha notes.

These milestones have firmly positioned DigiCert as the frontrunner in digital trust. The company is now on track to become a $1 billion ARR business with a growth and profitability profile above 60%, establishing it as a durable cybersecurity leader at scale.

“We are protecting the digital world today while preparing our customers for what comes next, from AI to quantum. And in many ways, this journey is just beginning,” Dr. Amit Sinha concludes.
